Ashley joined Hollyoaks in September 1999. His character, Darren Osborne, had briefly appeared back in the mid-90s played by actor Adam Booth, but hadn’t been seen on screen for two years. After leaving the programme in late 2000 Ashley enjoyed a short-lived career in the music business as part of the group All Stars. He returned to Hollyoaks in October 2003.
